Invite mother to a memorable meal experience in a stunning seaside location. You can calmly sit down and enjoy a feast created on site with simple cooking methods. This dinner will be a unique and memorable moment and I therefore keep the number of guests down. You can also choose to book the whole occasion for a nice Mother's Day celebration with loved ones.
You will experience a taste journey with ingredients from the place and the moment in both food and drink. The seaweed and beach plants are joined by long-term selections from sea and land, locally produced food crafts and in-season produce.
What is included
This will get you:
A one-of-a-kind meal experience with ingredients from the beachfront pantry. The seaweed and beach plants, together with locally sourced produce, humble selections from sea and land, and food crafts from the region, turn into a feast prepared using simple methods of outdoor cooking. The seaweed and beach plants are also allowed to contribute to the flavours in the meal drinks and stories at the dining table.
Practical information
I will meet all the guests at Styrsö Tångens quay at 13:40. Together we go to the place where dinner is served, and I will guide you on the way through the cozy fishing community of Styrsö Tången. The walk is piecemeal in fairly rocky terrain, so put on good shoes on your feet. If the weather is not suitable for an outdoor meal, we will see you in a cozy place indoors.

Hey. My name is Karolina Martinson and I live on Styrsö in the southern archipelago of Gothenburg. For more than 15 years I have had a passionate interest in our fine Swedish seaweed, and in creating a Swedish food culture where seaweed has an obvious place on our plates. I call myself a seaweed diver, sustainability inspirer and ambassador for the new sustainable Blue industries of the future, and I just love being able to tell you in as many different ways as possible about how you can pick and enjoy the seaweed and the beach plants, but also about how we can relate to the sea and the raw materials that come from it in a more sustainable way. Now and in the future.
