Cyanotypy seaweed and beach plants
SE
**Come to Cloverön at the most beautiful time of the year. Each mountain crevice stands in bloom and below the surface the seaweed wags in clear water. Together with the artist Maria Lindén, I invite you to an all-day workshop in a completely unique place where seaweed and beach plants can end up both on our plates and immortalized in works of art. ** **The oldest extant photographic images found on seaweed are made using the technique of cyanotypy. [Anna Atkins] (https://publicdomainreview.org/essay/anna-atkins-cyanotypes/) is the woman who, back in the mid-19th century, created the world's first photography book, British algae. So follow Anna's trail and make your own photos of our beautiful seaweed varieties from the west coast. ** Maria Lindén brings with her all the materials needed for the different moments of cyanotype, so you get to learn this art from the beginning to the finished work. If the weather permits, we collect together the seaweed and the herbs we want to immortalize in our works of art. Otherwise, there will be plenty of collected seaweed and plant material for our workshop on site. Seaweed and herbs/ beach plants become ingredients for all of the day's meals, snacks/snacks and drinks along with the finest seasonal ingredients from growers and food artisans in the surrounding area. You will also get knowledge and inspiration on how you can use the seaweed in your own kitchen. During this workshop we will be held in a very unique place. Softly nestled in the beautiful nature of Klöverön, in the protection of Linneberget lies the house created by two artists with a very fascinating life story. To be invited to this day so completely in their spirit is for me a great joy, and the stories of the place and the people who lived here will be given space. **Location: ** Klöverön (Klåverön) Marstrand **Time: ** Saturday, June 7 at 9:00 a.m. - no later than 5:00 p.m. (adjusted for municipal traffic from Gothenburg Central Station) **Price: ** 2250 SEK/person incl VAT. All materials, coffee, drinks and lunch included **Bring: ** Immaculate clothing for the cyanotypine, clothing for the weather, good shoes to go for a bit with. Swimwear if the breath falls on and the weather permits

About Algblomman
Hey. My name is Karolina Martinson and I live on Styrsö in the southern archipelago of Gothenburg. For more than 15 years I have had a passionate interest in our fine Swedish seaweed, and in creating a Swedish food culture where seaweed has an obvious place on our plates. I call myself a seaweed diver, sustainability inspirer and ambassador for the new sustainable Blue industries of the future, and I just love being able to tell you in as many different ways as possible about how you can pick and enjoy the seaweed and the beach plants, but also about how we can relate to the sea and the raw materials that come from it in a more sustainable way. Now and in the future. In 2021, one of my dreams came true, and together with Linnea Sjögren I got to publish the book *** [Picking seaweed and beach plants] (https://www.algblomman.com/boken) *** at Natur och Kultur förlag. I am convinced that one of our very best ways to learn and understand new things is through what we experience. Therefore, I want to show you how good the future can taste, how beautiful it can be, awaken your love for the sea and its inhabitants and at the same time have fun on the way. Get in touch and I'll tell you more.
